The 96th national high-school baseball tournament, “Kōshien,” ended today.
It’s my favorite passtime during summer to watch the games on TV.
The reason that I love the Kōshien is that I can see the high school baseball players’ personal growth through their hard training, which makes the Kōshien very popular in Japan for a long time.
As well as they learn the skills of the baseball through their training, they learn the team spirit and the spirit of self-sacrifice to accomplish their dreams.
In Kōshien, I can see the true sportsmanship, which is fairness, ethics, respect, and a sense of fellowship with their competitors.
This really inspires me.
During the tournament, the energy of the young players sparkles on the diamond in Kōshien.
It’s beautiful!
Although I like watching Kōshien on TV, I didn’t have much time to do so because of the special summer classes in juku where I hold for the elementary and junior-high students, especially for the students taking high-school/junior-high-school entrance exam next year.

This summer, my juku’s motto was “forcus, 一点集中”.
Without “focus, 一点集中”, nothing can be achieved because the summer goes by so fast.
So, focus, focus, and focus!
When Kōshien ends, it is the start of the fall season in Japan.
I can already hear the buzzing of Tanna japonensis (ひぐらし), a kind of cicadas, who brings the fall in Japan.
Time waits for no man.
Juku is all about the personal growth for the students, like Kōshien is for the high-school baseball players.
